How to Go Live on Facebook Using the Mobile Facebook Pages App
Tired of being the best kept secret in town. Let’s face it. Live video is one of the best ways to keep your brand top of mind and tip of tongue. Especially when you have a mobile television studio within arm’s reach.
In this article, I’m going to tell you how easy it is to go live on your mobile device by using Facebook’s Native app. And if you stick around, I’ll tell you how easy it is to bring on a guest. To get started you’ll have to download the Facebook app from the App Store. Now you could choose between the Facebook regular app or the Facebook Pages app.
For this example, I’m going to use the Facebook Business Page app. When you’re on your Business Page, click on publish. From there you’re going to click on, add to your posts, and that will give you the drop-down menu where you can find live video. This is where you can add a description, check into a location, tag your friend, or add a feeling to get your viewers excited about your live stream. So, if you need better lighting, you can tap on the lightning icon to get better lighting in your video. If you want to have some fun, you can click on the wand icon to unlock the camera effects on your phone. This gives you an opportunity to change your background add a frame, or even use some filters to have fun with your fans.
By default, when you go live on your smartphone, Facebook will automatically broadcast your show in portrait. So, if you want it to be in landscape, you have to turn your phone first in landscape mode, before you even hit the go live button. Now that you have that all set up, it’s time to go live. Go ahead and click on the live streaming icon. When you start live streaming, you’re going to notice that the comments will appear on the lower left-hand corner of the screen. If you want to hide the comments on the screen, it’s as easy as swiping your phone. And this is what it looks like when you go live vertically portrait mode on your personal page. To hide the comments on your screen. Just go ahead and swipe to the right, and to bring it back, swipe to the left. If you want to engage with your viewers, you can simply tap on a comment like it or tap on reply to comment back. So, when you’re done with your live stream, just go ahead and click on the finished button. Once your live broadcast has ended, you have three options.
You can download the video to your smartphone. You could delete the post or keep it public on your page. And now I’m going to show you how easy it is to bring on a friend to your live broadcast. So when you’re live streaming on your mobile device, you have a really cool opportunity to bring your viewers on as a guest. So, to bring your friend feature only works on your personal profile. And so I was able to bring on Mitch. So, Hey Mitch. And to remove a guest from your live stream, you just click on the X right here.
And once you’re done with your live broadcast click on finish, and you’re all set. When it comes to using the bring-a-friend feature, there are only two places that you can use it. You can use it on your personal profile or in your Facebook group. The difference between the two is, when you use the bring-a-friend feature in a Facebook group, you have the option to download the HD recording.
On a personal page you don’t have that option. What are the limitations of using the bring-a-friend feature is that it only works on your mobile device? However, if you go live on and your desktop, then you have an opportunity to unlock so many other features, like engaging your audience with polls and questions.
